New Lobes

Ashlyn has been asking to get her ears pierced since last summer after she spent a week at her cousin's house and she got to see all of, Alli's pretty ear rings. I decided a long time ago that I wanted to wait until Ashlyn was at least 5 years old to get her ears pierced, and to wait until she asked. My mom did the same with me, and I asked to get mine pierced for my 5th birthday. It is a great memory that I will never forget, and I wanted to give my daughter the same opportunity to make the same great memory.

We took her to Claire's and made sure there were 2 people there so that she could have them both pierced at the same time. We got there and she picked out her ear rings, first she wanted the hello kitty ear rings, but thankfully they were out of those. She finally landed on the pink flowers.

Here she is before she got them pierced, totally clueless about the pain that would come with getting her ears pierced. She is all smiles and grins while she waits.

One last picture of those precious little lobes with no holes in them. The last picture of her being a "little" girl. Still clueless as to how the ear rings actually get into her ears.

They marked the dots on her ears so they would know where to pierce them at and gave her a sucker while she waited.

She officially has pierced ears! What a "big" brave girl she was that she didn't even cry! I think she was so shocked by the pain that she didn't know what to do.

She has beautiful "girly" ears now. What fun she is going to have when she gets to change out her ear rings to match her outfits.

Just had to post this pic :) Look at that tongue, licking that sucker! The sucker definitely helped take her mind off of the pain that just happened.

I'm so proud of my brave girl! I was amazed that there were no tears. I am excited about the future with my "big" growing girl, but I also miss the days that she was so little. For now, I just can't wait to go out and buy her all kinds of cute ear rings!
