I finally got my mail yesterday! The people building the house next to me have been blocking my mailbox for almost a week and yesterday they finally didn't park in front of it! So I excitedly go and get my mail! I am thumbing through all of it, sorting out what needs to go straight to the trash and what needs to be opened. So I come to this envelope that is addressed to the parents of Justin Lloyd. It's a little odd but not too odd. We get things in the mail addressed to the parents of... but usually from our church or the kids school. This was from neither. So I open it up and read that they are extending him an invitation to travel abroad next summer with their group! My first thought is " what the heck?! He's only going to be 10!" Then my next thought is, " What has that boy been signing up for on the internet?!" A little scary. My kids play on the computer and they know just about every kids site there is out there. Everything they play is on the bookmarks and I have checked them each out and made sure they are fine for the kids. But, Justin is getting older and is more tech friendly than the other kids. There is no telling what he could have given his information to. On the other hand I thought, well, maybe he didn't give his information out, maybe somebody else gave it out. Who knows?! But who in their right mind would invite a 10 year old to travel abroad? They say it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, they only extend the invitation out once. I wonder if it's a scam? Sounds a little fishy. Hmmm. Maybe I should take them up on their offer? :) A whole summer with no bickering and fighting! Sounds to good to be true.
