A Secret Surprise

Last week, Justin, left for his second camp this summer. We decided that while he was gone we wanted to re-do his room and make it a surprise for him when he got back. It was a huge project but I was excited to do this for Justin. I think the best part about the whole week was having my very good friend and neighbor, Nicole, come and help! Painting is so much more fun when you have a friend helping you. So while we spent the week painting and touching up and shopping and hanging everything up, our kids sort of had free reign. Now we checked on them quite a bit but there was a lot of running back and forth from our house to theirs and a lot of playing in the rain since we were sort of locked up working on his room and it rained most of the week. We had one day that we couldn't do anything that threw us off of our schedule because Austin got sick with a stomach bug! That's twice this summer for him! And both times were while Grant was here. But we got it done just in time. I had visions of Justin's reaction, I was going to video his reaction when he walked into his room. I just knew he would be so excited and jump up and down and give me a great reaction that would make all of my work that week totally worth it! And I was going to share his reaction with everyone! It was going to be just as exciting for me as it was for him. Unfortunately, when we got him back Saturday night, he was sick and wasn't feeling well. I had the camera recording his reaction anyways, but it was a sad reaction. Not the one I had anticipated. Oh, well. He's better now and LOVES his new room! And I know that it made him feel special. Now I have Austin asking me when am I going to do his room, and he actually thinks that I can paint all of his walls camo!! He's got another thing coming. I'll come up with something cute for his room that has camo in it, but I don't think I'll be painting it camo. Here are the before and after pictures of Justin's room.

HESSIE! The room turned out awesome. I love it. For Austin's room you could paint it green and do a camo border- there are a ton of camo wallpaper options. But a border would save you from having to wallpaper everything. Just an idea.

That looks great! We did Logan's recently and it is a pain to paint but well worth it when they feel special.

Sorry it took me so long to get the pics on the sidebar. Been studying my BUTT off, and am coming up for air before my final exam on Monday!

So, let me know if this is okay...and I made it where people can't right click and "save as" pictures off of your blog!
