Cruise Control

Every summer since my brother-in-law and sis-in-law moved to Waxahachie we have switched out kids. Their kids will come to our house during the week of our VBS and our kids will go to their house during the week of their VBS. This year was special because it was the first time they let my littlest one come! So the hubby and I took control and went on our first cruise!

It was the first time in 9 yrs. we had a chance to get away from our kids and take a trip together since our honeymoon! It was a 5 night/6 day cruise! And by the third day Jeremy was on my nerves as I was probably on his. We had tried desperately to find another couple to go with us but everyone we asked either had the money but couldn't find childcare or had childcare but no money. We still had a blast! We can't wait to go on another cruise! They are definitely our kind of trip. So much to do, so much to eat! The shows, the casino, the pools, the dinners, the naps!

My biggest disappointment was Jeremy's lack of enthusiasm in taking pictures! Every time I even mentioned a picture there was complaining! Every night on the ship they had photographer's set up all over 1 floor taking pictures. I was determined to get a nice picture of us on our cruise! So I dragged him on 2 different nights to those photographers so I would have options to pick from. There was moaning and groaning! I swear he sounded worse than our kids!
And wouldn't you know that when we finally got to view those pictures we couldn't agree on one so we didn't even get one! All that for nothing! And if you know Jeremy and I, it shouldn't be a surprise that we couldn't agree. So here are some of the very few pictures we have of ourselves.

I tried to put them next to each
other but can't figure it out. But
you get the idea, right? Probably my most favorite part of the trip was the shopping in Cozumel. That's where Jeremy and I make a good team! I'm good at picking everything out and he's good at bargaining. I sort of felt bad for those people.
Jeremy would give them a price and they wouldn't want to take it so he would just walk out of the shop and they would come chasing after us willing to sell at the price Jeremy offered to begin with! We have so much here in America and they work hard for very little. Here are some pictures of some of the things we got. I couldn't pass up the mexican girl doll for Ashlyn and some little dresses for her too. I finally have a daughter I can buy them for. I can remember when we were there on our honeymoon they tried selling me those cute little dresses for like only $5. This time they tried selling them to us for $15 a piece! But not with Jeremy on my side! The boys got shark tooth necklaces and I got some jewelry, and Jeremy got a blanket for his boat. In the end we had a good time and can't wait for our next cruise, maybe with the kids next time.

Oh I'll bet you had a great time! It is the opposite in our family. I like to take pics of the kids but Greg always wants pics of me or wants pics taken with our camera by other people and I moan a little too;)
